Each frame begins as select cuts of dried white maple that is measured, hewn and assembled in our Norwalk, CT studio.
Heavy steel coiled springs are then placed and set using the traditional eight-way hand tied system for maximum stability and a comfortable seating experience. Marshall Unit coiled springs are used on the backs of furniture to reduce noise and provide a comfort.
A mixture of cotton, down and feather is layered over the frame and channeled cushions are hand stuffed with our standard fifty-fifty mix of down and feather. All furniture is upholstered in a layer of muslin, creating a durable and smooth base for the final finished upholstery.
Pieces are delivered in five to six weeks’ time.
“A lot of so-called custom furniture makers buy their frames pre-cut cut and assembled from frame makers and then upholster them. All our furniture is fully cut and assembled in house.”
